Service Design Lead on the Strategy, Insights, and Marketing team within the Single-Family mortgage business. I currently lead the service design practice at Fannie Mae and manage a growing team of service designers. In addition to mapping the complex primary and secondary mortgage market ecosystem, we're co-creating "living" artifacts to facilitate immersive empathy-building across the organization, layering in quantitative and qualitative insights to stimulate human-centered organizational transformation within a traditional government-sponsored enterprise (GSE).

Capital One Labs | Arlington, VA
Experience Designer
January 2016 - November 2016

Capital One Labs is all about making products that have a big impact. When our team isn't venturing to build the next generation of financial products, we're partnering with other Capital One teams to tackle their biggest challenges. We work in small, cross-disciplinary design teams that define smart strategies and make beautiful solutions. Our work results in more human and valuable product and service experiences.

As an Experience Designer, I ...

  • cultivated deep empathy for people and their needs, and translated this understanding into insights, opportunities and inventive ideas;
  • explored wicked problems around people and their financial well-being;
  • leveraged ethnography to gain deep insights into human behavior;
  • participated in all aspects of the design process to frame problems, define insights, create compelling visions, and make concepts and prototypes;
  • sketched, generated concepts, and performed ideation exercises to push the boundaries of what we built;
  • identified opportunities to establish new points of view on trends and insights, partnered with internal and external subject matter experts, and developed new capabilities that evolved our design practice, particularly research.
